Andrew Hadro was born in Mexico City and spent his childhood in Sao Paulo, moving to the Chicago area in 1991. There, Hadro began his musical studies on the flute and taking up the baritone saxophone soon thereafter. During his high school career Hadro won several Downbeat awards with various ensembles. Also at this time, Hadro had featured performances in front of the Tito Puente and Count Basie rhythm sections.
In the year 2001, Hadro was awarded a scholarship from the Illinois Jazz Educator's Association. He is a recent graduate from The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York City. Current and past teachers include; Greg Fishman, Roger Rosenberg, Gary Smulyan, Danny Bank, Junior Mance, Tim Price, George Garzone, and Ronnie Cuber.
Mr. Hadro has performed with the Duke Ellington Orchestra, the Bjorkestra, and performed, recorded, and toured extensively with Chico Hamilton's "Euphoria" Quintet. In 2006 Hamilton released four albums featuring Hadro. He is active in the New York scene and involved in several projects including performances with his own band.
